Church Origins
Of all the Christian Churches existing today, only one Church can be historically traced back day by day to the time of Jesus Christ. This Church is the Catholic Church. All other churches were founded hundreds of years after the time of Christ. This is important because Jesus instructed us to take disputes "to the church" in Matthew 18:17. This creates a problem for the Protestant Christian since Protestant Churches were established approximately 1500 years after the time of Jesus Christ. The following list shows the establishment dates of some of the most popular denominations.

The above information was obtained from non-bias resources available in most public libraries. Although members of some of the Churches listed above insist that their Church is the original Christian Church established by Christ himself, historical fact and evidence disproves their theory. In addition to the late establishment of the Churches, the distinctive beliefs of these Churches are absent from the earliest Christian writings.
