Terry 'Buffalo' Ware

I'm a guitarist living in Norman, Oklahoma. I have played in bands and with singer/songwriters since 1965,
and have been freelancing since April of  2000. I also have a part-time band called Terry "Buffalo" Ware and The Shambles.
We play instrumental rock/surf/r&b/okie twang music featuring many of my original compositions as well as covers by
The Ventures, Los Straitjackets, Booker T and Frank Zappa among others and we have no fear of reverb.
Other Shambles include Bob French, guitar, Dennis Borycki, keyboards, Marlin Butcher, bass, and Ray VanHooser, drums.

2004 > present - Teaching guitar at McMichaels Studio in Norman.

2000 > present - Freelance. Artists I've worked with in this span include Ray Wylie Hubbard, Michael Fracasso, Ellis Paul,
Mary Reynolds, Emily Kaitz, The Buckarettes, Greg Jacobs, Bob Childers, The Red Dirt Rangers, Macon Greyson and
Camille Harp. I've also done some of my own instrumental shows.

1997 > 2000 - Guitarist with Jimmy LaFave

1986 > 1997 - Guitarist with Ray Wylie Hubbard. During this time period I also did two writer in the round tours with Ray,
Jimmy LaFave and Kevin Welch. Also a Rounder Records tour in Europe with Ray, Carrie Newcomer and Slaid Cleaves.
In addition, I backed several artists at the Blue Door Concert House in OKC including Iain Matthews & Lisa Mednick.
I also did a couple of shows with Sandy Rogers in Norman and Springfield, MO.

1979 > 1986 - Guitarist and vocals with The Sensational Shoes.

1973 > 1979 - Guitarist with Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Cowboy Twinkies.

1972 > 1973 - Guitarist with Ray Wylie Hubbard.

I also played bass with Bill & Bonnie Hearne in 1972 for a few months while residing in Red River, NM

This timeline represents my career from when I became a full time musician.
It doesn't include various bands in high school and college.

I'm somewhat of a musical misfit and have a variety of influences.
I like The Beatles as well as Frank Zappa.
I like the Stones as well as The Ventures. I like Jimi Hendrix as well as Don Rich.
I like Freddie King as well as Link Wray. I like James Burton as well as Charlie Christian.
I like Steve Cropper as well as  Jimmy Webb. I like Brian Wilson as well as Woody Guthrie.
I like Duke Ellington as well as Bob Dylan. I think you get the idea...
