Still Jammin' in Spirit

I was on the 4/20 cruise too. Even though I'm not as much of a party person as some people (only stayed up til 3 a.m. once ;-) ), I had a GREAT time and really wish I were still in the BVI's....or at least on the Poly *somewhere*. My next trip will definitely be one of the Poly's French West Indies routes.
A bunch of us met in St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon for the ferry ride to Tortola. It was great to meet so many wonderful mates (15 or 20) earlier in the day, before we got to the Poly. It was a great pre-party! (I'd prefer to have flown out of Beef Island on the way home. By Saturday I was practically sleepwalking .....and I was more awake than some people!!)
The seas were pretty smooth and there wasn't much sailing on this trip, other than when we were caught in a headwind on the way to Virgin Gorda. That left more time for relaxing on the beach and otherwise getting into the island spirit. Aaaaaahhhhh.....I may never hurry anywhere again....
I skipped the organized island tours on Tortola and Virgin Gorda, instead taking rented jeeps around the islands to see the sights. What a great way to see the beautiful views. I would also recommend renting a jeep because it's a BLAST to take the windy, hilly, curvy island roads fairly fast, just for the heck of it! (Watch for the occasional speed bumps, though.)
Capt. Neil and the crew were everything I'd hoped for -- most accommodating and a ton of fun. And even when I wasn't in the middle of all the partying, it was hilarious to take in some of my mates' action from the sidelines!
I had never been to the Caribbean before, not even on a foo-foo ship....and after this fabulous experience, I will ABSOLUTELY be back. You couldn't pay me to go on a foo-foo ship, either! Aim that cannon at the stupid foo-foo!! FIRE!!!!!!
