Episode 86: Pikachu Re-Volts As the group head for Mandarin Island on Ash's Lapras, two familiar figures watch them. The two mysterious people are Butch and Cassidy, newer members of Team Rocket. The gang reaches the island to see a Voltorb, Grimer and some Magnemite attacking their own trainers, with no understanding why. Suddenly, Pikachu turns to Ash with a hateful face, as does Togepi towards Misty. Ash tries to get Pikachu back, but 4 Magnemite shock him and the Voltorb uses it's Self-Destruct. All the Pokémon have disappeared. Officer Jenny arrives to hear the situation and she explains that this has been happening for quite some time. Back at the station, they call on Professor Oak who says it may be an outside force. Jenny brings up the possibility of it being a Psychic origin because her Ghastly isn't affected. On the island too are Jesse, James and Meowth. Meowth also becomes possessed and leads the other two to a building with an antenna on it. Meowth dives down a pipe and Jesse and James follow to be confronted by Butch and Cassidy. After arguing over the motto, Jesse and James send out their Pokémon to get Meowth back. However, Cassidy calls upon a Drowzee who is connected to a system, and takes control of their Pokémon. Thrown out, Team Rocket end up in the police station with the gang. Jenny asks for help from Team Rocket because they know who is behind the scheme, and they all come up with a plan. Team Rocket show up at the building with a large crate on wheels and shown Butch and Cassidy that they want to be friends by offering them a crate of Pokeballs to transport the Pokémon in. After being let in, the gang jump out of the crate and see their Pokémon. They also notice Drowzee. Jenny sends out Ghastly to attack Drowzee but because Butch and Cassidy were owners of the Pokémon Spa, they made the Drowzee extra strong. Drowzee commands the other Pokémon to attack Ghastly, who puts up a fight. Ash then taunts Pikachu to shock him, and Pikachu becomes angry as Ash dances around evading Pikachu's sparks. Ash then moves to the system Drowzee is connected to, and Pikachu destroys it unintentionally. This causes the Pokémon to wake up from their sleep and go back to their trainers. Cassidy and Butch then challenge Jesse, James and Ash with their Drowzee. Pikachu's Thunderbolt does nothing as Drowzee teleports. He then starts to use Metronome. Togepi, watching the whole time, copies Drowzee. Togepi's Metronome results in an Explosion, which allows Jenny to put Butch and Cassidy away in jail.
Episode 87: The Crystal OnixOur heroes are riding on Lapras, heading for the next island when they notice a bottle in the water. Inside is a note saying: If you know anything about The Crystal Onix, let me know right away. Signed Marisa of Sunburst Island. The gang travel to the Island and see a man telling a little girl that her brother has no talent and they should shut down because they are ruining business for him. They talk to the little girl about what is happening, and it turns out that she is Marisa and her brother Mateo is having trouble sculpting Pokémon out of glass. Mateo tells them the story. When his grandfather ran the store, there were lots of customers because he was so good. When he died, Mateo took over the store but wasn't as good. He says he needs to capture The Crystal Onix, because when his grandfather saw it, he was inspired. This is what Mateo needs. Near the site is Team Rocket who accidentally break another store's merchandise and are forced to work to pay off the debt. They overhear about Mateo's attempts to find The Crystal Onix, anddecide that a rare and valuable Pokémon would be just what they need. On the search, Tracey sends out his Venonat to locate an Onix with its vision, but isn't successful. He then sends out Marrill, who uses his ears to try and hear an Onix. Marrill dashes off and leads everyone to a cave with a river inside. Marrill dives in and out again, and The Crystal Onix shows itself from underwater. Immediately, Mateo sends out Cloyster, but its Water Gun has no effect. Team Rocket chase after the gang and try to claim the rights to The Crystal Onix. After being beaten by Staryu and Pikachu, they are lobbed by The Crystal Onix out of the cave. Mateo decides that since Cloyster had no effect, Charmeleon would do better. Charmeleon dodges Onix's Rock Throw and uses Flamethrower then Ember to heat the Onix so it flames. Suddenly, Mateo becomes inspired by looking at the burning Onix, and decides not to capture it, as he has found what he has needed for so long.
Episode 88: In the Pink On Lapras are Misty and Tracey talking about why Togepi hasn't learnt any attacks (little do they know) when they are sucked into a whirlpool and land on island. Ash becomes concerned that they are off track, by Tracey explains they are on Pinkan Island, and because of the whirlpools and high cliffs, no one has explored it. So there may be a new type of Pokémon no one has ever heard about. They climb the cliff and see what seems to be a pink Rhyhorn eating pink fruit off a tree. Tracey gets as close as he can and sketches it, while Ash goes and pets it on the horn. This causes the Rhyhorn to charge at the gang and they are about to be thrown off the cliff when Togepi waves his hands not knowing he is using an attack. The Metronome ends in a Teleport, which causes the Rhyhorn to fly off the cliff onto a tree sticking out from it. Officer Jenny pulls up in her jeep and the gang explain about the Rhyhorn. Tracey and Ash are lowered down by a rope attached to Jenny's jeep and are spotted by Team Rocket in their Magikarp submarine. They too get caught in a whirlpool and land on the island to be unpleasantly greeted by Jigglypuff. Beginning to sing, Team Rocket waste no time and run away to the forest. As Ash goes to collect Pikachu so they can head to the police station, he notices that Pikachu's tail and cheeks are pink! Officer Jenny tells him not to worry as it is only because Pikachu ate some Pinkan berries that only grow on that island, but will not be permanent. Team Rocket's frantic running stops when they see the forest is full of pink Pokémon. Their first attempt is a couple of Nidoran and Jesse sends out her pink Lickitung to weaken them. They chase the Nidoran into a cave where Lickitung runs out frightened, followed by a pink Nidoking. Team Rocket run as James calls for Weezing to use Smokescreen. Unable for it to see, Nidoking is then Wrapped by Arbok, and finished off with a lick from Lickitung. No sooner, then gang and Jenny show up to stop them. Pikachu shocks Team Rocket, which wakes up the Nidoking from paralysis and whacks Team Rocket into the sky. Nidoking them starts to chase the others and the jeep takes a wrong turn and ends up facing a cliff, cornered by Nidoking. Charging up, Nidoking uses it's Hyper Beam, and again, not knowing he was attacking, Togepi waves his arms, and this time, the Metronome ends with a Barrier, nullifying the Hyper Beam. Jenny the uses the advantage to lasso Nidoking and tie him up so the threat is reduced. Jenny takes the gang safely through the whirlpools so that they can continue their journey as Misty wonders about Togepi. Could it be useful after all?
