The objectives of the Veterans of Foreign Wars are fraternal, patriotic, historic, and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship amoung it's members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain and extend the institution of American freedom; and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies, whomsoever.
Post 2346 is heavily involved in community service activities. We support all local children' sports, sponsoring teams in virtually every league, in all major sports, at all ages. To accomplish this we rely on our BINGO operations and the profits derived thereof.
We also provide two major scholarship contests for Saugus High School students giving $1700 in scholarships and $1500 in U.S. Savings bonds to the winning students each year.
Finally, we hold a large party for residents of the Chelsea Soldiers home each year, at Christmas. We also invite these patients for a picnic on our patio during the summer. At each of these events, the patients are provided with a meal, dancing, and professional entertainment.
