ANT CITY, Decatur TX
Kevin, Roy, Ricky and Wally setup camp at Ant City Friday night for an evening initially marred by cloads from a frontal boundary. By 9:30pm the clouds receded and granted a marginal zenith to Southern view. I spent my time in the general vacinity of Cetus and neighbors. Nailed a couple Messiers and then spent the rest of the night trying to resolve what I ws looking at with the Uranometria charts (which I finally have a set!). Ricky practiced keeping his sleeping bag warm. Kevin worked numerous objects during the night. And Roy displayed arcane insight and did not setup the Interocitor (he somehow detected that it was too cloudy and too cold). We bailed-out early (~11pm)...too cold! I do not understand how y'all of the non-Sourthern state locales can observe in temperatures below 40F.
