Britt's Trike Project
December 2001 - January 2002

I went over to Britt and Debbie's house on Friday the 28th of December 2001 and found out that much has already been completed. The new frame was installed, but the rear end was not totally connected yet. With many phone calls to the vendor and much discussing about the rear end, we (Brett, Don and, Randy and myself) finally got the rear end in the bike, but it had to be removed again due to the new ladder bars still hitting the frame.

With a little more persuasion with a small sledge hammer and a grinder, the ladder bar is free and clear, so now the rear end goes back in for the final time. With the rear end in we had to get the angle of the drive shaft correct. We did it with some special tools but we got that completed.

Now the body needed to be installed. With some more phone calls and more discussion we got the body right where it needs to be. We drilled all the holes to hold it on the frame. It is now starting to look like a trike.

With the help of Kenny Miller on Saturday we got the trunk support modified and installed and the wires rerouted to the aft end of the bike. On Sunday, Kenny Miller helped to try to install the mufflers but something is not correct with them. Need to make more phone calls. So we stopped on that til Monday.

So we started on the battery box and we got it installed. The next step is to ride, so came out Debbie, with camera in hand, and a MUCH nervous Britt, took it out for a test ride up and down the street. I think I saw the bike but it was hard to see due to the big smile from Britt on the new trike.

With some small things to complete it should be complete, except for paint, in 2 or 3 days. I am sure Brett and Debbie want to thank everyone for all of the support and help they have received so far.
