Tiwahe Lodge 45 covers the San Diego, Imperial, and Yuma counties of California and Arizona. The lodge was formed by the merger of Ashie Lodge 436 and Pang Lodge 532 on November 7, 1992 at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. Ashie Lodge's totem was the thunderbird, and their tribe was the Navajo. Pang Lodge's totem was the Big Horn Sheep. Tiwahe is Lakota for family. The Lodge number came from the 4 from Ashie's 436 and the 5 from Pang's 532. The totem is the Red Tailed Hawk, and the tribe is Lakota Sioux.
