PRESENT POSITION . . . Mr. Castellano currently serves ZEI, Inc., as Executive Consultant for natural gas and power generation projects. EXPERIENCE SUMMARY . . . Mr. Castellano has over 40 years of professional experience in the energy field including projects involving planning, engineering and construction of gas and steam transmission and distribution facilities, compressor station and power generation facilities. Mr. Castellano served as Chief Gas Engineer and more recently as the Assistant to the Assistant Vice President of Gas Operations at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. In these positions, he administered, directed and set policies for the overall engineering requirements of ConEds gas system including supply, operation, design, construction, inspection and maintenance of the facilities and the component parts. For 26 of his more than 32 years at ConEd, Mr. Castellano managed gas planning, analysis, design and meter engineering. He formed and managed ConEds initial Corrosion Engineering Section with responsibility for compliance with newly enacted federal and state regulations. Mr. Castellano was the primary developer in the early 1970s of a master plan to rebuild and rehabilitate the ConEd gas system. He also co-authored the New York State Cast Iron Pipe Report working with executive level personnel at other gas utilities in the state. During his other six years at ConEd, Mr. Castellano provided engineering design for major power generating stations including conceptual and feasibility designs for conversions from coal to oil burning and for the installation of package boilers and topping turbines. Prior to joining ConEd, Mr. Castellano was with American Electric Power Company for six years as Supervising Designer for all aspects of large power generation stations. Earlier, he was with Celanese Corporation of America for two years designing power stations to provide power and process steam for chemical and petro-chemical plants in Mexico, Columbia and Venezuela. Mr. Castellanos prior experience also includes four years with Gibbs and Cox, Naval Architects, where he provided layouts for piping systems and components for U.S. Navy destroyers and other combat-type naval vessels.
