G. Brymer Williams, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Williams currently serves as Consultant to ZEI, Inc., on projects related to energy processes.

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY . . .

Dr. Williams, Professor of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Michigan, has forty years of engineering experience. The last thirty-three years on the faculty of the University were preceded by employment with the M. W. Kellogg Company. He has been a consultant for twenty-eight years with the Phillips Petroleum Company and with its subsidiary, Applied Automation, Inc., which designs and manufactures computer control systems. During this period, he has also served as a consultant to other industries and to governmental agencies, including the EPA on research in environmental concern areas. He holds Bachelor’s and Doctorate degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Williams’ activities have included the design of processes and systems, plant tests and optimization studies, regional natural resource development studies, development of energy conservation programs and basic research in various related areas. Some of the specific processes and products covered within these functions are:

Natural Gas – Field processing, liquefaction and transport by tanker and pipeline.
Petroleum – All aspects of refining processes.
Coal – Transport and conversion to gaseous and liquid fuels.
Oil Shale – Processing studies of both Eastern and Western shales.
Cryogenic Processes – Production of oxygen, helium and liquefied natural gas.
Uranium – Production of yellow cake from primary ores and from secondary sources (Eastern oil shales).
Magnesium – Production from dolomites by electrochemical and by thermal processes.
