on a variety of energy-related projects since joining ZEI, including studies relating to
the remaining service life of cast iron and steel main and services for fifteen large
natural gas distribution companies.
Past assignments have included:
Served as
Executive Project Manager for twenty-four natural gas distribution company studies on
developing life expectancy and replacement programs. Conducted technical presentations of
ZEI's study findings and recommendations before state regulatory commission staffs on
behalf of five of the client companies. |

variety of gas transmission engineering multidisciplinary projects including scheduling,
cash flow and cost control. |
Management of
natural gas and coal-fired cogeneration plants. |
Management of
instrumentation and control, air quality, chemical and other specialties. |
Management of
mechanical design and specifications for power plants, facility evaluation, equipment
application for control of particulate emissions, economic studies, and performance
evaluation of mechanical engineers, designers, and draftsmen. |
Responsible for
development of conceptual plant designs, major equipment specifications for heat cycle
equipment, evaluation of equipment proposals, and recommendations for purchase of
equipment. |
Selection of gas
turbine generator equipment for utility company power generation application, evaluation
of primary fuel supply for utility and industrial power application, fuel conversions,
detailed equipment specifications, and numerous comprehensive studies in future power
generation. |
Prepared test
procedures, supervised and performed ASME Power Test Code acceptance tests on fossil fuel
power generation equipment including steam turbine generation cycles and combustion gas
turbine generator systems. The equipment tested ranged in size from 33 MW to 387 MW sized
units, for utilities which included Consumers Power Company, Ohio Edison Company, Central
Illinois Light Company and others. |
Managed the
design and equipment selection of a coal combustor facility for testing the
characteristics of various types of coal prior to use as fuel for coal fired power plants.
Project was for a large electric utility company having several coal-fired electric power
generation units. |
Managed a study
for a large industrial client related to the technical and economic feasibility of using
ultra fine pulverized coal/oil and coal/water slurries to fire existing gas or oil fired
packaged type steam generators. |
